Head Teacher's Welcome

The staff team, pupils and governors and I would like to extend to you a very warm welcome to our school.

Our school was first opened in 1901 and retains much of the same external features and benefits on the inside from two large halls, spacious classrooms and  a library. We cater for pupils from 3 to 11 years of age and have two Learning Resource classes which support pupils with special learning needs from our own catchment area and around Newport. There are approximately 340+ children who attend the school.

Vision Statement

Our vision for all members of our school community:

‘Hand in Hand we Inspire and Celebrate Success’.

Mission Statement

We will achieve this by striving to work in partnership with the whole school community. We will provide a learning environment that will inspire everyone to achieve more. Everyone has talent, we aim to nurture these talents and provide children with the skills to improve and achieve their best. Collectively we will enhance the opportunities and experiences of our pupils and celebrate all successes.

Children come to school happy and excited. We create opportunities for children that ignite their imagination and create intrigue. Children are encouraged to ask question of themselves – What have I done well? What do I want to become better at? How can I become better? How can I inspire others?

We look forwards to opportunities of working together with you to ensure Crindau Primary School continues to achieve the best outcomes for all our learners.

Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time over, issues, concerns, questions or to celebrate things you would like to share with us.

Mrs Marie Ward, Headteacher
